Out of the Mouths of Babes

Mimi called me at work today, she was laughing so hard I could not understand her.

Lisa met her at the door of IPCDS to whisper a tidbit of information AGP shared with all her teachers...

 We are having a baby boy!

Ummm - hello!

That is impossible and so NOT TRUE!!!

Where did she get that?

Why did she share that untruth?



AGP is our the ONE and ONLY!

I am certain of one thing ~ the fun is just beginning!

What do you do by your fire?

Apparently, AGP warms her buns and eats ice cream
while wearing a bathing suit in dead of winter!



And occasionally, she will be more normal!
Those times are few and far between!



Keepsake

AGP insisted on bringing some of the celebratory toilet paper home from Toomer's Corner.

She wasn't satisfied putting it in her keepsake box.

It had to hang up high and in a very unusual place!

"Somewhere that would usually get me in TROUBLE but not when Auburn wins!"

Who could say no to that request ~ not me!!!

The REAL Cam Newton

John and AGP went shopping one Saturday morning to waste time while I slept in a bit.

{Ahhh ~ how happy was I??!!}

AGP wanted to get me a surprise. She picked it out and had an explanation all ready.

 John fell for it and made the purchase.

When they got home, she gave me the surprise and the same explanation for me.

"Momma, meet Cam Newton! He has diet beteeze like me.

He gets his shots in his spots. I bought him just for you!"

"Wow, how did I get so lucky?"

"So, you can snuggle with him every night in your bed

and I can stay in my bed all night long!"

Does it get any sweeter than that?

If the truth is known, she wants me to stay on bed and not do her finger pops at 2am!!

Before bedtime, AGP comes and checks to see if Cam Newton is in my bed.

Here's hoping Can Newton has a very long career in the
NFL and manages his diabetes diet beteeze!

Back to Reality

The Pennisi family is attempting to re-enter the real world this week! It has been pretty smooth, except for those pesky blood glucose levels! Apparently, the strep, ear infections, and antibiotics wreak havoc on the the body's ability to process blood glucose. We have spent a couple weeks hovering in the 200 - 300 range. Since antibiotic rounds are complete, the doctor at Children's has made some adjustments on AGP's ratios. She also suspects that this bout of illness and meds have ended any "honeymoon"  phase for AGP's pancreas and insulin production.

AGP is loving all her Christmas presents. She is playing with all of them. We may have a Picasso or Monet on our hands. She spends lots of time painting and coloring on her easel. AGP will tell you that her favorite present is Cinderella's Castle. That is no surprise at all!!!
